If you've started on your very first internet marketing project, some AdWords bits of advice can help get the ball rolling for you. Making money with Google AdWords is very simple, and yet most people fold miserably at it! Using AdWords effectively requires a accurate formula of art and science. You should manage to get that creative edge on your competitors, and you should also be able to adjust the numbers game!

1) Designing The Ad

Be Specific. This is the most critical of all AdWords strategies that you'll receive. You only want clicks that can convert to sales. So be specific in the headline of your ad. If you sell "floral pattern bed sheets", mention the entire phrase in the heading. You don't want people looking for geometric patterned sheets clicking through!

What's-In-It-For-Me. Most people are tuned to station WIIFM (What's in it for me). Tell the customer how (s)he would experience some benefits by applying your product or service. Find out what they need and then provide it to them.

Your USP. What's your unique selling point? Why should someone buy your product instead of your competitor?

2) Keyword Selection

The Cost. Most articles on AdWords tips will tell you about finding a balance between the popularity of keywords and their CPC. Occasionally wrong spellings can get you a lot of targeted traffic while keeping the CPC low.

Targeted Traffic. For exact keyword phrases, use quotes and square brackets, like "NYC Theatre Tickets" or [Lion King Broadway Tickets].

The Freebie Hunters. Use "-free" to keep these individuals away because they aren't likely to purchase your product or service.

3) The Extra Edge

Your Own Website. What most articles on AdWords tips neglect to tell you is that it's also significant to have your own website, with a proper opt-in form so that you can generate a mailing list of all visitors. Individuals who don't purchase now can modify their minds later.

The Landing Page. It's better to have a separate landing page for each of your products, just like a separate ad for each of them. This ensures a better consumer understanding, and makes it easier for you to observe the individual conversion rates of your products.

4) The Number Crunch

The Budget. This is another hard-to-find point in the most common AdWords tips lists! You need to make a budget as to how much you can afford to spend per sale, and then stick to it.

The Profit. Calculate your profit/sale. Then use that data to work upon minimizing cost or maximizing sale, so as to achieve the ideal profit.

Check, Analyze, Examine For The Most beneficial. You can never do enough of it. You need to keep testing and re-testing; keep changing a word here and a phrase there; keep improving! And don't neglect to benefit from the journey on your way to your desired destination.
