What Is Morality?

The Old Testament used to define what morality was. The Ten Commandments with all the; thou shalt not do this and thou shalt not do that. But have things changed? There are people within the church who have broken all these rules and more so can they be followed?

What is right and what is wrong? Who do we believe? How do we know whether one person is morally right and another isn't? Which religion is the right one?

Morality comes down to living your life in the best way you can. Making the most of the opportunities you receive and the talents you were given. It is not about wasting time watching TV or going out all the time but developing your character and your energy and working towards achieving your goals.

It is not about what you say but how you say it. Actions speak a lot louder than words. It is about being a better human being. It means taking care of your families and also those that are less fortunate. It means that you should use the talents you have to make the world a better place for everyone to live in.

Be true to yourself, that's what it's all about; knowing your values and what are important to you and sticking to them. It is not about lecturing others on how they should be behaving but getting out there and living your life in accordance with your beliefs. It is having the courage of your convictions. When you believe that what you are doing is correct it will ultimately lead to you achieving your personal goals.

A moral person should be a successful person. They should be true to themselves and to others. They should have achieved their success because of the way they used their talents rather than the way they used other people. Moral people who are successful do not exploit other human beings. They try to inspire the people around them to achieve more from their lives. They set themselves goals and by achieving them show an example to the others of what can happen when you set your mind and your energy in one specific direction.

Our morality is the evidenced by the results we achieve in life not by the words we speak. It is evidenced by how we treat the people around us and how much help we provide to those less fortunate. There is always someone else in a worse financial position than you are, no matter what your position in life is. Being a moral person is not always easy because we are human. What is important is that we try.
